This Privacy Policy explains how Deck Estimate Tools handles information when you use deckestimatetools.com. The site is operated by an individual based in Indonesia under the public identity Deck Estimate Tools.

This is a privacy-minimal launch. There are no user accounts, no contact form, no active analytics, no advertising, no affiliate tracking, and no cookies. The calculators run in your browser, and the values you enter are processed on your own device.

Information stored in your browser

To make the calculators convenient, the site may save functional planning data in your browser’s local storage. This can include:

• Deck dimensions
• Measurement system (Imperial or Metric)
• Board direction
• Board dimensions and gap
• Waste percentage
• Joist spacing and span
• Computed board-row and joist-count handoff values used between calculators

These values are stored on your device and are not transmitted to Deck Estimate Tools during normal calculator use. They persist until you clear them. A calculator’s Reset may affect only the current project’s values, while “Clear saved calculator data” (on this page) removes all known Deck Estimate Tools values from your browser. You can also clear your browser’s storage manually. No cookies are currently used.

Share links

A share link is created only when you request one. It can contain numeric deck measurements, unit choices, waste percentage, joist settings, and other fixed calculator parameters. Anyone who receives the link can view those measurements.

• Shared links may appear in browser history, messages, hosting or content-delivery logs, or referrer information when opened.
• Please do not place confidential or personal information in share links.
• The calculator does not provide free-form personal fields in share URLs.
• Canonical pages exclude calculator query parameters.

Email correspondence

Contact uses a plain email link (hello@deckestimatetools.com). Clicking it opens your own email application; the website does not automatically attach your calculator inputs or URLs.

If you choose to send an email, Deck Estimate Tools may receive your sender address, the name configured by your email account, your message, any attachments, and any other information you include. Correspondence may be retained as reasonably needed to respond, keep records, prevent abuse, or meet legal obligations. Please avoid sending sensitive personal information, financial information, identity documents, or confidential construction plans.

Hosting and technical logs

Our hosting, infrastructure, DNS, security, or content-delivery providers may process standard request and diagnostic information needed to deliver and protect the site. Depending on the provider and configuration, this may include an IP address, browser or device information, requested URL, referrer, timestamp, and security or error information.

This information is not used by the calculators to create user profiles. Exact log contents and retention may be governed by provider settings and policies.

Analytics

Deck Estimate Tools does not use active web analytics at launch.

• No Google Analytics script loads in the current launch configuration.
• If analytics is introduced later, this Policy will be updated before or when that processing begins, and, where required, appropriate notice and user choice will be implemented.

Advertising and affiliate links

Deck Estimate Tools does not display active third-party advertising and does not use affiliate tracking at launch.

• Any ad placeholders are not active ads.
• No advertising script currently loads.
• The site’s ads.txt file does not currently authorize a real advertising relationship.
• If advertising or affiliate links are introduced, appropriate disclosures and this Policy will be updated.

Cookies

Deck Estimate Tools does not currently set cookies.

The browser local storage used for calculator functionality is a separate mechanism from cookies; it stays on your device and is not sent automatically with your requests.

How information is used

For information that is actually received or processed, it may be used to:

• Deliver and secure the website
• Operate calculator functionality locally in your browser
• Respond to voluntary emails
• Investigate bugs, abuse, or security incidents
• Maintain and improve the formulas and explanatory content

The calculators operate locally in your browser, unnecessary server API and database code has been removed, and HTTPS is used in production. You are responsible for controlling any links you share and for the security of your own devices.

• Use “Clear saved calculator data” to delete known site-owned local storage
• Clear your browser storage manually
• Choose not to create or share a link
• Choose not to send email

Depending on applicable law, you may have rights concerning personal data associated with you. Deck Estimate Tools may need reasonable information to verify and process a request, and requests remain subject to applicable law.

Children’s privacy

Deck Estimate Tools is a general-audience home-improvement resource and is not directed to children. We do not knowingly request or collect personal information from children through the website. Minors should use the site with the involvement of a parent or legal guardian.
